A Rare Thai Nakon Siam Sterling Silver & Niello Compact which is in beautiful condition. The compact case depicts a Rare Design of Warriors in Combat on the top of the case and a Temple on the reverse.
The clip of the compact is in working order and inside of the compact there are 2 mirrors and a powder sifter. The inner rim of the compact is stamped 'Sterling 925' and is circa 1940/1950's. The compact is
7 cms in depth and 7.5 cms wide and is in the original Thai Nakon box.
Niello ware is a black mixture of copper, silver and lead, used as an inlay on engraved or etched metal.
